A Relaxed Mother's Day
I am sorry this post is late, I have been very VERY busy recently doing boring 'life' things, and this is really the only chance I've had to sit and type out a blog post :)
As you know, yesterday was Mothering Sunday, and if you're a mum, I hope you had a wonderful day, and if you're a not a mum, I hope you made yours extremely happy by showering her with love (and wine ;) ). We had a very relaxed Sunday, I was back home from uni for the weekend, and instead of going out for a sit down meal, we stayed in.
It sounds boring, but it really wasn't. In the morning, mum opened her cards and prezzies from us all (myself, my brother and sister) and we ate croissants and hot cross buns and drank tea and coffee for breakfast. My brother then presented her with a beautiful bunch of pink and purple tulips, she was pretty chuffed with that.
Now, because we had such a big breakfast, we skipped lunch as we just weren't hungry. But we sat and looked at some old photographs and listened to good music while drinking fruit tea and it was the best thing ever. I may share some of those photos with you one day ;)
For dinner, we had a chicken and sausage casserole in a white wine sauce and it was amazing! It was homemade, cooked in a slow cooker, and it was ever so tasty. Afterwards, we watched a film called 'The Walk'. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt who plays an extreme tight rope walker. But he isn't any old tight rope walker, he specialises in high wire, so tight rope walking across a wire which is anchored very high up. It's a true story, based on his own testimony of the events. One day in 1974, he tight rope walked in between the Twin Towers, before they were even finished. He did so successfully, he didn't fall. There is a documentary about the true events on You Tube, I can't remember what it was called exactly, but if you type in 'man on a wire' it may well come up. Its a fantastically inspirational film and I highly recommend you give it a watch.
We then had a doughnut each and it was time for me to go back to uni. I was working on Sunday evening so I had to get back at a specific time which was sad but we had a great weekend all round really.
I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day, I will be back on Wednesday with a brand new blog post for you all :)
