How I Spend My Weekend Mornings

The weekends look different for everyone. They look different for me now than they did six months ago, for example. Mainly because we were renovating our kitchen and still renovating our garden. Half of the year was spent in the house, even at the weekends.

But now that we've finished that, I have all of this free time on my hands and it can be difficult to come up with things to do. So I thought I'd let you know how I'm spending my newfound weekends, in the hope that it gives you some ideas as well.

Garden centres

If you know me well, you'll be aware that I absolutely love a trip to the garden centre. But to avoid the crowds, we'll go early, pretty much when it opens. We'll go for a coffee and a spot of breakfast, and then we'll go for a walk around the plants and homeware.

That's something that will take up the entire morning, and we can then go home feeling like we've done something productive. I also feel satisfied that I've not wasted my weekend, haha. Although this tends to happen on a Saturday because I find it more chilled out, generally.

Breakfast dates

Going out for breakfast with friends is something else I love now that I have my weekends back. From simple coffees and pastries to more extravagant ventures out to restaurants, like Brown's, a spot of breakie with our nearest and dearest is a great way to start off the weekend. The same goes for breakfast with Tom. I love a breakfast date every now and again, and the weekend is, obviously, the best time for it.

Walks

Getting a bit of fresh air first thing in the morning is a great way to start the day. I often feel less tired and lethargic, and more like I can take on the day no matter what it involves. It also means that I've had a bit of exercise. It's lovely for walking trails and paths where we live, being more out in the countryside, so it's ideal, especially when the weather is nice.

Chilling

Sometimes, if we're not feeling it, we'll just stay in on a weekend morning. It will usually involve a bit of coffee and breakfast in bed and then downstairs to chill out on the sofa in front of a good film, or we'll binge watch the latest series we've been watching. It's perfect for times when we need to recharge our batteries after a busy week.
