Pumpkin Picking

Last weekend, my boyfriend and I went to a local 'Pick Your Own' pumpkin patch in the heart of Nottinghamshire to find some of the best pumpkins around. From teeny tiny cooking pumpkins to humongous carving pumpkins, there's something there for everyone! We bought three, one large and two small, with one of them shaped exactly like a pear...yes, a pear! So I just had to get it :)

The pumpkins simply cannot and do not compare to the ones you can buy in the supermarket. In fact, there's no competition, really. The ones that are locally grown in the heart of the community are ripe in colour and incredibly engorged. Despite some being covered in mud, the majority of them are in pristine condition - not at all like what you'd get in those giant supermarket containers. If you've never been before, but struggle to find the perfect pumpkin in your local food store, then give a 'Pick Your Own' pumpkin patch a go!
