How I Plan On Spending My Easter Bank Holiday

Easter Bank Holiday is just around the corner! But it's going to be the most jam-packed yet. I'm planning on putting on a traditional lamb roast for my family, so let me tell you what I'm planning to do in preparation!

Planning on Good Friday

You might be wondering what I'm planning for, exactly. But this year, we're putting on an Easter Sunday lunch for my parents, my sister and my in-laws. That's a lot of people for a roast dinner in one house, which is why I need to do some planning.

I wanted to buy the vegetables etc as close to the Easter Sunday date as possible, so I'll be spending Friday thinking about what I need for everyone. I think I have a lot of the drinks covered, including wine and soft drinks, but it's just the food to go, really.

I also want to get other things done, like cleaning the windows and tidying the garden. We'll have a view of the garden when we eat, being by the patio doors, so I want to make sure that our guests have a nice view when they look out.

Being productive on Saturday

As I've said, I'm planning on doing an Easter Sunday lunch at our house this year. So in preparation for that, I'd like to spend Saturday getting the table laid, perhaps getting some veggies chopped and prepped, that sort of thing. Other than that, I'm just hoping to chill out before lunchtime begins on Sunday.

Doing a lamb roast dinner on Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday is when I'm planning to put on a lunch. I want to do a leg of lamb and a joint of gammon. Considering there's going to be 8 of us, and a couple don't eat lamb, I wanted to make sure that there was enough meat for everyone.

The extras include the usual things really, Yorkshire puddings, veggies, roasties...the works! You also can't beat a cheeky glass of red with your Sunday lunch, so I made sure there was plenty to go around!

Relaxing on Easter Monday

I'm hoping to spend Easter Monday chilling out after the Sunday roast the day before. I thought it would be nice to go for a walk as well, if the weather is nice. But then given the British Bank Holiday weather, it's not likely, is it? You never know though!
