A Small Life Update!

I know, I haven't gone anywhere. But there are some things which I don't document on my blog, and recently, something quite exciting happened and I wanted to share it in a way that wasn't 'oh look at me showing off' if that makes sense? Actually, it probably really isn't such a big deal to you as it probably was (or is) to me. But I guess you can probably see where I'm coming from regardless.

A New Job

If you know me personally or follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you may already know my first bit of, relatively big, news. I applied for a new job a couple of weeks ago, it was a Monday night if I remember correctly. By Tuesday, I was offered an interview, by Thursday I went for the interview (Valentines Day) and by that evening, I was offered the role of Copywriter for a local company in my home city of Nottingham.

To say I was over the moon was an understatement. I'm now, as I write this, just a little under a week into my new role and I am absolutely loving it. From the work to the people, it is an absolute joy to finally have a job which is right for me in every single sense. In comparison to my last job, which was part-time, this will be a full-time, 9-5 job, so I may be spread a bit thin to get two posts up every week now. In which case, I may have to knock a post out once a week instead, if that's ok? But I will definitely have at least one post a week going live for you all!

Saying Goodbye to Our Guinea Pig

Anyway, the biggest part of my news aside, a few other things have happened since I did my last update. Our six year old guinea pig, Janet, passed away last week, leaving her very broken-hearted friend, Frankie, alone. If you have pets, you'll understand how it feels when they're no longer around. We're planning on getting Frankie a new friend, specifically a rescue guinea pig! So when she comes along, I'll introduce you to her :)

R.I.P little Janet!

London, Slash & Great Food

In less sombre news, my boyfriend and I went to London a couple of weeks ago to see Slash, with Myles Kennedy at Hammersmith Apollo. It was awesome. The music was electric, as was the atmosphere. There were numerous crowd-surfers and people mosh-pitting. We weren't in the standing area  thankfully, instead being up in the seated section. I'm glad we were, as it really was manic down there to say the least. Beforehand, we went for dinner at 'Big Easy' in Covent Garden. They specialise in smoked meats and BBQs basically. It was delicious! I couldn't eat everything on my plate as they gave us so much. I will try and insert a picture if I can find one for you :) I hope you don't mind, but they'll be from Instagram stories and Snapchat, so the quality won't be fantastic!

After the music, we went back to the hotel we were staying in, a brand new Novotel near Heathrow Airport. It was very posh, very modern and surprisingly quiet! We hit the bar before heading off to bed for a nice chilled end to such an action-packed day.

 Body Confidence Boost

For those of you who follow me on social media, you'll know that my body confidence fluctuates massively from week to week. I'm in a constant battle with my own mind and I can find it very draining a lot of the time. But It's been a while now since I've looked in the mirror and felt disgusted at what I saw. I think I had somewhat of an epiphany a few weeks ago and a lot of what I learned then has stuck in my head now, and it's changed my mindset for the better. So much so, I went out and bought a crazy pair of trousers, with a pattern?! I am crazy aren't I? Haha! Anyway, it's quite an achievement for me, so I thought I'd include it in this little life update :)
