If you know me well, then you'll understand that I love a good glass of red wine. Obviously, my family are aware of this, hence why they gifted me a box of six, carefully selected, beautifully fruit red wines, and I thought I'd share them with you.
It's not often that you find good British wines, but if you know where to look, then you'll find those absolute gems. My parents bought these bottles from a company called 'The British Wine Cellar' rather than from the vineyards themselves, but the role of The British Wine Cellar is to get the names of those delectable British wines out there, trying to steer us wine-drinkers away from the same supermarket brands to an independent wine producer.
In this blog post, I'll be telling you more about The British Wine Cellar and I'll also talk you through each bottle of wine, just in case this is something that interests you! So, let's get into it shall we?
More about The British Wine Cellar
The British Wine Cellar has the sole aim of raising the profile of a number of British wines, mainly from England and Wales. If you buy a bottle of wine, you'll be provided with a leaflet explaining more about the vineyard the wine has come from, together with some information about the people behind the creation. You'll also be given a summary of what to expect, flavour-wise, from your wine. From bold and fruity aromas to spicy or smoky notes, there'll be a bottle of wine there for everyone, not matter what your taste.
The British Wine Cellar is a family-run business, founded by two wine lovers after they became frustrated with the amount of choice available in their local supermarkets. After liaising with a number of different British wine producers, who understood their annoyance by the lack of choice in the average supermarket, it was agreed that The British Wine Cellar would provide wine-lovers nationwide with the variety they'd been looking for.
Now, The British Wine Cellar have over 80 high-quality, delicious wines available from around 17 winemakers throughout England and Wales. So if you choose to buy your wine from The British Wine Cellar, you'll be helping to support a multitude of small-medium independent businesses as opposed to large, corporate sellers.
