A Recipe | Homemade Guacamole
Guacamole is a staple during the summer months. Whether you're putting it with a classic Mexican dish or simply using it as dip for tortillas or crisps, guac is the most delicious concoction for any avocado fan, but it suddenly occurred to me that I haven't actually made it myself, despite it being one of the most easy do-it-yourself dips to make. With that in mind, I thought today was the day that I gave it a go. If you're here, then it must be something that you want to try as well, so you've come to the right place! Let's make some guacamole together :)
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: N/A
Serves: 8
Ingredients
- 1 tomato
- 3 avocados
- 1 lime
- Handful of coriander (optional)
- 1 red onion
- 1 either red or green chilli
- Tortilla chips, to serve
Method
Step one: Pulverise the whole tomato into a pulp and place in a bowl
Step two: Half, de-stone and scoop out the flesh of all three avocados and then scrape it into the bowl with the tomato pulp
Step three: Juice the whole lime then chop up the coriander, the red onion and the chilli, but make sure to de-seed it first. Place all of those ingredients in the same bowl and season with salt and pepper
Step four: Pour the contents of that bowl into the smashed avocado and tomato mixture and stir thoroughly, using a whisk to make it light and fluffy
Step five: Serve in a dipping bowl with tortilla chips and enjoy!
