Everything I Loved in September
Welcome to my September Favourites post! Don't get me wrong, I loved the summer, but I'm actually quite excited to be coming into a new season. I feel like everything winds down towards the end of the year, in more ways than one. October just gives cosy, hunkering down sort of vibes and I'm so ready for it. But let's take a look back at the month of September and everything I loved over the course of the month.
Golf & Sunday lunch with the family
Towards the end of the month, we went out for a Sunday lunch and a spot of golf with my family. My brother and sister-in-law came down for the weekend, so we took the opportunity to just have a chilled weekend and of course that means having a roast dinner at some point.
We went to our local golf club and enjoyed a Sunday lunch with all the trimmings and even had a pudding! Everyone had a go on the driving range afterwards, mustering up all of the energy we could after eating a full blown roast, but it was extremely fun and it ended the weekend beautifully.
Finishing the kitchen
Granted, our kitchen isn't finished 100% yet. We still have a filler piece to put on, some colour needs to go on the walls and we need to add the tile strips, but other than that, we're finished! I can't wait to get some finishing touches, like a few sets of blinds, some pictures and I'm also in the market for a new dinner table and sideboard.
For me, the best part about renovating a house is putting your own stamp on it and then putting more personality into it with the soft furnishings, like placemats, coasters, tea towels, oven gloves, prints and more. I can't wait to really get stuck in to make the kitchen feel more homely. I'm also itching to get rid of our white dinner table.
It's done us well these last five years but the kitchen doesn't have the same vibe anymore. If you have any suggestions for somewhere we can get a decent dining table that will go with the aesthetic for the kitchen, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, then please do let me know in the comments! Any suggestions are most welcome.
Superstore on Disney+
If you're looking for something different to watch that's not your typical American sitcom with canned laughter and all that other stuff, then this show on Disney+ is an absolute must-watch. It's got rave reviews online, and I can see why.
With diverse characters and a new story line with some common threads running through the entire show, it's difficult not to love. It's also good if you have experience working in retail, because a lot of it is very relatable. Either way, brilliant show that I'd recommend to everyone.
Some autumn sunshine
I know that September hasn't been the best month weather-wise, but we did experience some sunshine towards the end of the month and I was all for it. Any excuse to get out in the sunshine, even if it is a bit cold, suits me down to the ground. While it's definitely time to pack away the BBQ and the garden set, there's always time to pull a chair out of the garage and just bask in the autumn sunshine before it goes away again for six months.
The new air fryer
I was dead against getting an air fryer, because we have a slow cooker, a range oven and a multi-purpose sandwich press. I really didn't see the advantage. However, Tom had his heart set on one for ages, so when his birthday rolled around back in August, I caved and bought him one as a gift.
Ever since then, he uses it almost every day and to be honest, I've been using it as well, surprisingly for me, haha. But anyway, if you're on the fence about buying one, then let me tell you to just buy the air fryer, you won't regret it and you definitely won't go back!
