How to Make Your Own Gingerbread Latte

You will not believe how easy it is to make your own gingerbread latte! We have a bean-to-cup Delonghi coffee machine which we absolutely love and use every single day so it's like having a shop-bought coffee every time we have breakfast, haha. But this will still work even if you drink instant coffee, so read on to see how to do this yourself at home!

Make your coffee

Make your coffee the way you normally would if you have it from a machine. If you drink instant coffee, then make it black first and heat your milk up in a pan and whisk it up as you go. It would be even better if you had a milk frother, so if you do have one of those, then use that!

If you don't have a milk frother, you can pick one up really easily and trust me, you need one because frothing milk is an absolute game changer! Once you've frothed the milk, pour it into your black coffee so you have a delicious latte-style drink.

Now it's time for the syrup

Yes, this recipe, of course, requires gingerbread syrup in order to make it into a proper gingerbread latte! Much like the milk frother, you'll be able to pick up a bottle of this for a reasonable price on places like Amazon or even your local garden centre might stock some.

We also invested in a plastic pump in order to put the syrup into the coffee in the least messy way possible as it is rather sticky. If you have a pump, we do one and a half pumps directly into the milky coffee. If you don't have a pump, then do one and half dessert spoons, although this does depend on the size of your mug.

What about the cream & the actual gingerbread?

I don't have cream and all the toppings on my hot drinks, not even on my hot chocolates, but if you want to add some whipped cream and crumble some gingerbread over the top of it (and maybe even enjoy a mini gingerbread man alongside your beverage) then you do that! It is Christmas after all, so treat yo' self :) The reason I don't have cream etc is because I don't really like the taste of it, but I can guarantee that if I did, I'd have cream on top of this drink every single time, haha.

Relax & enjoy!

Now your drink is done, sit down, whack a Christmas film on, snuggle down and enjoy it! What's your favourite thing to do at Christmas that means relaxing and chilling out? I love to laze around the house drinking hot drinks and eating all the biscuits, haha. Let me know in the comments below :)
