Our New Bathroom Reveal: Before & After

I'm back again with another renovation reveal for you all! It's been ready for some time now, but I've only just got around to revealing to you! We didn't do a great deal in terms of renovation, but it has had an entirely new bathroom suite, the radiator was moved and replaced and we changed the skirting boards, the architraves and the door (which now has a lock on it).

We quite liked the tiles and the previous owners had left a few boxes behind, so we salvaged those and managed to save some money on new tiles, which was a relief. We also ripped out the plastic vanity units and replaced it with a wall we built ourselves using timber and plasterboard. For the top of the shelf, we added some fascia boards because I wanted a shelf that was plastic. I think it works really well in here.

The shelving also doesn't come as far out into the room, so we've saved some space as well, which is always a good thing! Other than, nothing else has really changed, other than laying a new Quick Step floor and painting the walls a more modern colour. The old bathroom was painted magnolia and the light fitting was cheap and rubbish, so we replaced all of that as well.

We also ripped out the electric shower and plumbed in our own shower which now runs right off the boiler. That was something we did ourselves as well, using nothing but some plumbing olives, copper and a blow torch. It really was quite an achievement, because we moved the radiator ourselves as well.

We saved so much money it all ourselves instead of bringing in contractors and plumbers. Either way, the bathroom is now done! Take a look at the before image below and then the following three are of the newly-fitted bathroom suite - enjoy :)
