AC/DC at Wembley Stadium, London
On the 7th July we went to Wembley Stadium in London to watch the one and only AC/DC. If you're a huge rock music fan, then you'll know that there has been much hype and anticipation surrudning this gig, and for good reason. It was long disputed as to whether or not a tour was going to happen at all. But last year, they played a festival and it raised everyone's hopes that there would be a proper stadium tour on the horizon, and here we are.
It's been much-anticipated among the rock community, being speculated and talked about on radio stations and rock music channels on the TV. So when the time came for us to finally get tickets, we jumped at the chance. It wasn't any easy feat, but Tom knows what he's doing when it comes to bagging the hardest-to-get tickets, so we managed to snag some to go seated at Wembley Stadium.
It was such an epic show from start to finish. Not only did it have a bad ass start, but it had a bad ass finish, too. Complete with canons that shot with the beat of the drums, it was an epic finale to match an incredible show, generally. The gig opened with a car driving through the streets of London and up to the doors of Wembley Stadium. As soon as the car drove out on stage, the stars themselves appeared, making the crowd go wild.
They opened the show with their hit singles, so everyone knew the words and exactly what to do to get the party jumping. It was something that every body enjoyed, whether you're a rock fan or not, it was such a fantastic gig to go to. Like Guns N' Roses, in the sense that there's bound to be a handful of songs that you will recognise and have a boogie to. Although Tom would say that you can't boogie to AC/DC, haha.
It was a real treat to watching AC/DC perform live. People aren't sure whether or not they will ever tour again, with the lead singer being 76 and the rest of the band being in their late 60's and early-to-mid 70's. If it came out tomorrow that they were retiring, I would be grateful that I got the chance to watch them on stage, live, while they still had their mojo. Although, if they were to tour again, I'd be among the first to get tickets just to experience it all one last time.
