Another National Trust Treasure | Hardwick Hall
If you've been following me recently, you'll know that we visited Calke Abbey (also owned by the National Trust) a couple of weeks ago, if you want to see what that was like in comparison, you can read the blog post all about it. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to visit another Nation Trust site - Hardwick Hall.
What I love about National Trust parks is that they're so looked after and they always look beautiful, especially the gardens! Most of the time, the park has a hall, abbey or other building on the site that you can look around for a small fee (unless you have a membership), but due to Coronavirus, the hall itself wasn't open to the public.
But it was such a gorgeous, hot, sunny day that we really didn't mind not looking around the house because it meant we really appreciated the grounds it sits on. Hardwick Hall was absolutely beautiful, made all the more wonderful by the glorious sunshine which stuck around all day and well into the evening. We even took a little picnic with us to eat in the sun, made up of little sandwiches and scones for pudding - delicious!
I'm so excited for you to see how beautiful it is, I'm going to stop talking just so you can flip through the following photographs - they might well persuade you to go and visit Hardwick Hall yourself :)
