My Action Plan for Reading More Books
Reading is something I have always loved, even as a child. But life happens, especially as an adult and that basically means that I have absolutely no time to sit and read, as much as I would like to. But the very fact that I miss it and find it sad that I don't have the time to read made me think about how I can get back into it again. So here's my action plan for reading more books!
I'm scheduling time to read
Instead of letting the free time find me, I'm going to carve out some of my free time. Whether it's an hour before work in the morning or right before I go to sleep at night, I'm going to make some time to read a book, almost as if it's an assignment with a deadline.
I'll be choosing genres I enjoy
I'm a sucker for a good romance novel, but I'm also partial to a bit of horror and thriller. I know what I definitely don't like, so I'll be steering clear of my least favourite genres and making the time for the books I know I'll find enjoyment in reading.
I want to minimise distractions
The only way I can concentrate on what I'm reading is if I have nothing else going on in the background. I also get distracted very easily, so I'm going to make sure I'm reading in an environment that is distraction-free so that I can read as much as I can in the very little free time I have.
I only have plans to read one book at a time
I'm someone who, if I get bored with something, I'll drop it and move onto something else. I don't want to keep swapping and changing the books I read, mainly because I'll get confused haha. So, once I start a book, I won't move onto a new one until the one I initially started has been finished.
