I've recently just bought a Barbour coat. I have always wanted one, so when John Lewis did some price matching over the weekend, I nabbed myself a jacket that I have had my eyes on for some time. I went for the Barbour International Polar Quilted Jacket in black.
I have worn it almost every day since I bought it and I am so in love. It got me thinking that everyone should invest in a Barbour coat, but why? Here are four reasons why Barbour coats are worth the price tag.
1. Made to last
Barbour coats are designed to last through winter, year after year. Made from hard-wearing,weatherproof materials that are often coated in either waxed cotton or quilted nylon, a Barbour coat can take years of battering the elements without looking worn or tired.
While I've only had mine for a few weeks, I know people who have had the same Barbour jacket for over a decade and it still looks brand new. Whether you're walking the dog in muddy fields or enjoying lunch with friends on a cold, wet afternoon, you need a Barbour coat.
It's something you need in your wardrobe if you want a jacket that is both functional and looks incredible. This is something that we'll be getting onto in a moment - the look and the functionality.

I've just touched on the fact that Barbour coats can last for years, but they really are designed to take on the British weather. When I tell you that my Barbour coat is warm and comfortable, I really do mean that. My Barbour coat is incredibly toasty and I love wearing it. Whenever we leave the house, I'll reach for my Barbour coat.
It's also perfect if I have somewhere smarter to go but need a functional jacket that looks as sophisticated as the establishment I'm going to. It's especially useful when it rains. Mainly because I'm so warm and comfortable in my Barbour coat, so I'm happy whatever the weather.
