3 Nights in Le Chateau Frontenac, Quebec City

We spent three nights at the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City. It was a very luxurious stay in the heart of the city and I was actually sad to be checking out on our final morning. Something we absolutely loved about the place was the architecture and the history of the place.

It's where the D-Day agreement was signed by the great powers back in WWII. It's also played host to the late Queen Elizabeth II and her parents before her. Many celebrities have also stayed there, which I'll get onto later in this blog post.

For this article, I'm going to be taking you through our stunning stay at the Chateau Frontenac, mainly showing off the stunning exterior and interior to give you some context on exactly how grand and luxurious it actually is.

The exterior

We spent many hours walking around Quebec City, just looking back at the gorgeous, absolutely stunning architecture of the Chateau Frontenac. It looms over the old town in a way that is both impressive and proud, clearly being the jewel in the crown of the city.

The interior

As you'd expect, the inside of this hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of the Plaza in New York, combined a little bit with the Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. It's old, grand and just beautiful.

It's somewhere that I never thought I'd ever stay, but here we were, and it's now the only calibre of hotel I want to stay at, unfortunately for my husband, haha! I'll get onto our room in a moment, but it also came with a lovely swimming pool, hot tub and even a sauna - what is there to complain about?

There are also parts of the hotel that you can only see if you're actually staying at the hotel, as many areas are guest-only, which is what I took a few pictures of! I definitely made the most of being a guest there for three days - who wouldn't?!

The celebrities

As I said earlier, there were a fair few celebrities and even royalty who have stayed here. Winston Churchill had also stayed at the Chateau Frontenac during the 1940's, when the D-Day agreement needed to be signed. But among Churchill included the following people...take a look at the photos below:

The room

Our room was a cute little space on the edge of the Chateau Frontenac with a view of the water and the fort at the top of the hill. It was super comfortable with a lovely little bathroom that was very modern and a delight to use.

We even managed to get some room service up to us one night as we'd just spent the evening by the pool and were just too chilled to get up, get dressed and venture out. So we really have made the most of our three night stay at the Chateau Frontenac.

In addition to this, we also got a turn-down service when we weren't in our room at night. This is when a member of the housekeeping staff comes in, pulls the covers back for you to get in, outs the remote and a bottle of water by the bedside and lays a bath mat out on the floor in front of the sink for you to brush your teeth. They also close all of the blinds and turn just a bedside lamp on, which remains on until you get back to your room. They even left us a little postcard one night!

To conclude

Our three night stay at the Chateau Frontenac was excellent. I would totally recommend it for those visiting the city, if it's within your budget. It really is worth it for that luxurious stay in a stunning city that will remain engraved in your memory forever. Our stay at the Chateau Frontenac was just the icing on the cake really.
