Everything I Loved in June
June has arrived and left us within a matter of five minutes, which is exactly how it feels. How are we now half way through the year? Anyway, let's not get bogged down on how fast time is moving. Let's take a look back at everything I have loved throughout the month of June.
Dogsitting
My parents went to the theatre this month, and I was waiting for Tom to finish up at a beer festival that he went to with some amazing friends of ours, all on the same night. So seeing as I was in the area, I spent my Friday night dog sitting my parents' Cockapoo, hence the cover photo!
Seeing Russell Howard live
You might be thinking, if you follow me regularly, that you have the wrong month, or that I'm a bit confused. But you'd be mistaken on both counts. We went to see Russell Howard live back in January, and we loved it that much, we bought tickets to see him for February.
However, he cancelled the date and rescheduled for June. So this month we saw Russell Howard again and he was absolutely brilliant, as always. We're never left disappointed, and our sides are never left intact either, splitting by the end of the night!
Getting together for my dad's birthday
As is the same for every year, my dad celebrated his birthday at Hickory's Smokehouse, which is a place he loves. We like it, too, but we really only go when my dad has a birthday, haha. I can't believe that I didn't take any pictures of the food. I must have been super hungry. But I went for hot dog, as I always do when we visit this gaff!
Father's Day
My family met up for Father's Day this year as it's my brother's first one since become a dad. My dad, on the other hand, has had over thirty of them, but who's counting?! Haha. We saw my brother, sister-in-law, sister, mum, dad and niece, so it was a special Father's Day for all involved. That and we had some amazing weather to top the day off.
The World Cup
I'm never really one for football. I don't follow a team and, back when I was a kid, England never really did too well during the major tournaments, so we never watched the World Cup, really, as kids either. But for some reason, I'm quite invested this time around, as I was during the Southgate era. Do I believe we'll win it? No. Do I think we can go relatively far? Yeah, there's no reason why not! But for now, I'm just enjoying the experience of it all.
Our grass is growing back
Our grass was in quite a state at the start of the year, and it's taken some time, money and TLC to try and get it back again. It's not even been down for two years yet, which is what we keep telling ourselves, but the difference between now and March is night and day. It looks so lush and green. It's a miracle what a bit of seaweed feed can do for a lawn.
The new season of Clarkson's Farm
A new series of Clarkson's Farm came out on Amazon Prime this month and I couldn't have been happier about it. I have loved all of the previous seasons so far, and I really did enjoy watching this one, but it definitely makes for difficult viewing, just as a pre-warn.
Rivals season 2
It seems to be the month for television, but Rivals season two aired this month and I was all for finding out what happens after the previous season. As someone who has never read the books, it's nice to watch it completely out of the loop, but I can't believe they're making us wait until November for the next part!
Sex in the City
This is something that I cannot believe I hadn't seen before. I've made it over thirty years without the joy that is Samantha Jones, my favourite character by far. I've seen the entire series form start to finish throughout this month and I wish I could unwatch it just so I could watch it again without knowing what happens.
