How I Clean My Laminate Flooring: Flash Speed Mop to the Rescue

We've all seen the adverts and watched the commercials on the TV of the singing dog and a fella who always looks extremely happy about the fact that he's been tasked with cleaning the kitchen floor. But it's obvious why he has such a grin on his face, because it's another household chore that's made easy by the use of these amazing Flash floor wipes and you know what? I think I have to agree with him.

When Tom and I first moved in together, we had laminate and vinyl flooring down pretty much everywhere and we were on the lookout for a mop that was able to take floor wipes as opposed to a traditional mop and bucket. We looked high and low for a mop that took floor wipes and we just couldn't find one that was reasonable in price.

So after exhausting our search online, we went to Tesco to do our weekly food shop and thought we'd take a look down the household aisle, just on the off chance that they had a reasonably-priced floor wipe mop on sale and they did! It was the flash floor mop that we originally didn't bother with because it was so expensive for what it was. But this time, it was half price with a Clubcard so we thought "for a tenner, you can't really go wrong". So we picked that up with a box of Flash Speed Mop floor wipes (which were less than £3 back then) and we went on our merry way.

Fast forward a couple of years and well, let me tell you that these floor wipes are a lifesaver. Unfortunately, you can't use the mop with unbranded floor wipes, it's only compatible with the Flash alternatives. But I wouldn't actually bother going back to unbranded ones because, in comparison, they're rubbish. The Flash Speed Mop floor wipes are drenched in liquid, meaning that, often, just one or two wipes will do the trick in our living room, which is pretty big.

I would recommend that you actually shop around for the floor wipes themselves because there can be quite a difference in price depending on where you shop. For example, for a pack of 12 wipes, Tesco sell them for £3.95 and Sainsbury's sell them for £4, but in Home Bargains they're £3.50. Places like Wilko and even Pound Land sell them as well, but not for a very competitive price.

When not on offer, Wilko sell a pack of 12 for a whopping £6! I found the best place to go is Home Bargains because I can usually get a pack of 24 for £6, which is a steal. But make sure you're looking around for the best price and go wherever offers the best value for money. It might seem a bit counter-intuitive, but buying a bigger pack is often cheaper in the long run, despite the larger initial cost.

How do I clean my laminate floors?

I'm pretty sure we've all established that use these Flash Speed Mop wipes with the actually branded mop just to top it all off (I haven't bee paid to write this, haha). The reason being is that you want a fairly decent product that's going to clean your floors and leave them looking spick and span, which these do.

Our living room floor, especially, was rather expensive so the last thing you want to do is drench that using a mop and bucket. It can actually damage the laminate floor, so please refrain from cleaning your floors this way. The good thing about these wipes is that they come with a heft amount of product on them, but not so much that your floor is swimming in liquid.

I also do the same in our spare bedroom because this has had brand new laminate flooring down as well which, again, wasn't exactly cheap. If you have wooden, laminate, vinyl or even lino flooring, then I highly-recommend these Flash wipes - they work wonders!
