5 Benefits of Staying in Times Square, NYC

Times Square in New York City sounds like a hectic, expensive place to stay, but it's really not. You'd never think that it's actually a really amazing place to stay in the heart of the city, but there are loads of different benefits to staying there that you might not have thought about. So, to bust those misconceptions about the area, I'm going to detail some benefits, from someone who has stayed in Times Square before.

1. It's a central location

You can literally get to anywhere in New York City from Times Square. Not only can you walk there, but you can also take the bus or the Subway to those places in no time at all. It's a popular place to stay as it can save you a lot of time if you want to travel here, there and everywhere during your stay.

2. It's close to Broadway

Broadway is the perfect place for any theatre and musical lovers. If you have a show booked during your break, then Times Square would be the most brilliant place to stay. It's a convenience base for Broadway shows that just cannot be passed up.

3. Transport links are excellent

Times Square has amazing transport links to various locations across the city. Not only can you get from one end of New York to the other, but there are also trains that can be easily caught to New Jersey and Brooklyn from Times Square. You'll even be able to bus hop or flag down a taxi close by if the Subway isn't your thing.

4. There are loads of restaurants & bars in the area

You'll never be short for food and drink options if you stay in Times Square. We found various eateries and bars in the area which were a stone's throw from our hotel (the Intercontinental) and we had an amazing time enjoying the night life.

5. The area never sleeps

It doesn't matter what day of the week it is or the time of day, but Times Square is almost always buzzing. The shops are open, the streets are bustling and the lights are flashing 24/7, so there's never a dull moment if you stay in Times Square during your New York City trip.
