Disney 100 the Concert at the NEC

In case you didn't already know, we are huge Disney fans, more so me than Tom. Disney has always been a huge part of my childhood, watching all of the films we could get our hands on that had the Disney label slapped on them. When it was announced that Disney was doing a concert to celebrate their 100th anniversary, we jumped at the chance to go and watch it.

The Hollywood Orchestra played all of the music live for us all and they did such a fantastic job. They played all of the classics, starting with Cinderella and other oldies right through to some hits from Encanto and Frozen. All of the singers did a stunning job of the vocals, with a bit of acting thrown in here and there.

It had everyone up on their feet singing to world-renowned records that has stuck, and will continue to stick, with generations. Right at the very end, they played a hit from Mary Poppins and all of the adults right through to four and five-year-old children were singing away because everyone knew all of the words.

It was lovely because you knew you were there with other Disney lovers. You all have a common interest and passion and it felt as though everyone was there to simply let their hair down and enjoy the evening, with no judgement at all. I was also thrilled to hear some music from The Little Mermaid - my favourite Disney film of all time. They also did the classic 'You've Got a Friend in Me' from Toy Story, something that Tom was especially happy about.

The great thing about the Disney 100 the Concert was that it put a smile on every one's faces. There were people there of all ages. From elderly couples to small children, there was something there for everyone. They even played the Star Wars and Marvel theme for those who have more of an interest in the fantasy genre as opposed to the cartoons, animations and musicals. If they ever do a Disney concert again, I would definitely recommend that you go and experience it for yourself - you'll not be at all disappointed.
