Everything I Loved in August
August has come and gone so quickly, just like every other month that's gone so far this year. But you know what that means! It's time for me to tell you what I have loved throughout the month. So let me take oyu through it :)
Oasis at Wembley Stadium, London - Live '25 Tour
Oasis. They've been everywhere since their first gig last month. We absolutely love them. We have since we were teenagers, so we absolutely had to have a go at getting some tickets, and we did! We went on 12th August to Wembley Stadium in London to watch what was the best gig I have ever been to. I can't really describe to you what it was like. It was just incredible, and a night I'm likely never to forget. If you've been, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Tom's 31st birthday
Tom turned 31 this month, which was a lovely occasion. I booked the day off work to spend the day with him. We first went out for breakfast, followed by half an hour or so on the golf driving range, which is where we went for breakfast. We then finished off the night at Bill's, where we had some delightful food and drink and a bit of birthday cake!
Generally, it was a really chilled out day and Tom enjoyed himself, which is all that matters. Also, I bought him an air fryer for his birthday, which he loves, so much so he's trying to cook everything in there, haha. Safe to say, it was a good present for sure! I might do a blog post soon about our favourite things to cook in an air fryer, so keep your eyes peeled for that one, if you're interested :)
Bank Holiday in the Cotswolds
We spent our August Dank Holiday in the Cotswolds this year. We went with our family for a few days, just as a way to chill out and enjoy each other's company. We visited lots of little villages in the area, as well as taking the usual stroll through Bourton-on-the-Water. We had the loveliest roast dinner in Stow and even had time to visit The Farmer's Dog - Jeremy Clarkson's new pub.
While we didn't manage to book into the actual restaurant, we still made the most of our time there, buying food and drink from the tent out the front and enjoying a cheeky pint or two. It was a lovely experience, not hectic at all, and it's all very well-run. But anyway, that's our Bank Holiday in the Cotswolds in a nutshell.
Kitchen renovation progress
You may or may not be aware, but we're putting a new kitchen in, and we have been since June. We're doing it ourselves just to save a bit of cash, but as always, it's been a lot more work than we had planned. We've been renovating our house for nearly four years now, and not one room was a simple decorating job.
The kitchen is no different. We've had to replumb, rewire, replaster, retile and repaint. It's needed new French doors and windows, it also needed an internal door, as the previous owners took the old one off. It needed new window sills, pipes needed to be boxed in and our utility cupboard was in a complete state of disrepair.
It still needs new flooring, skirting boards and architrave, and they need to be glossed, too, as do the window sills. But we've come a long way. We've just added some coving and tiled as well, although there's still a fair way to go yet. It's still good to see some progress though, which is something I have loved throughout the month of August.
