Blogmas (Day 10) | Meeting Mary Berry at the BBC Good Food Winter Show
As most of you will know, I love food, I love baking, I love Christmas and I love Mary Berry, combine them all and what do you get? One very happy lady! For our two year anniversary, my boyfriend surprised me with tickets to this Winter's BBC Good Food Show at Birmingham's NEC and guess who was doing a book signing that day? Mary Berry! I can't tell you how excited I was. We were number 17 and 18 out of 80 who were allowed to meet Mary Berry and have a book signed by her as well and let me tell you, she was absolutely lovely!
Afterwards, we watched a show where we saw her do a live cooking demonstration. She cooked some beautiful chicken legs in a really quick, homemade sauce and for pudding, she made a banoffee pie! She even told us a few stories at the start of the show and answered some questions from the audience. She was very informative and it was a joy to watch her on stage, work her magic!
There were loads of different demonstrations going on throughout the day, all working for BBC Good Food. Some YouTubers were there as well, those who specialise in preparing food, cooking and baking. But in between that, there were loads of different food and drink stalls, all selling festive variants of their speciality foods, ingredients and alcoholic beverages.
We had a great time sampling anything we could get our hands on, from cranberry flavoured liquor, to raspberry and white chocolate brownie, to a sausage seasoned with red wine. We had a great time and I couldn't recommend these BBC Good Food Shows enough. The next one is in the Summer of 2019 so keep your eyes peeled, you too could end up meeting Mary Berry!
