Why I'm OK Not Being a Morning Person

I have never really been a morning person, at all. I'm not one of those people who looks forward to getting up early, even if it's for a certain reason, I just love my bed too much. The only time I do have to drag myself out of bed for is work and, as the weather gets warmer, to go for a run (call be crazy). But other than that, I don't like getting up early for the sake of it.

I also prefer to stay up a bit later in the evenings rather than to get up early and start the day. I feel like I'd rather elongate it more the other way so I can pencil in some time to relax after work or after a run. Especially after cooking dinner, eating dinner and clearing up after dinner. By the time you've done all of that it's 8pm and almost time to go to bed again, ready to repeat it all the next day.

I'd consider myself to be more of a night owl because this is when I'm most productive. I'm more likely to do housework at night, like cleaning and hoovering. I also like to sort the washing out and do a bit of blogging later at night if I don't feel like I need to relax. I just feel like having a longer evening is a far better use of my time than stretching the morning out and that's ok. So how does my morning look these days?

7:45am

My alarm will go off around this time if I'm planning on going running that morning

8:30am

This is the time my alarm goes off if I don't want to go running in the morning. If I have been running, this is usually the time I'll get home and have a shower

8:45am

I'm up, making coffee and breakfast with Tom

9:00am

I'm at my desk in our at-home office, logging onto my computer to start the working day

9:15am

I've checked my emails and can get started doing the work I have on my to-do list that day

10:30am

After working for an hour or so, we'll stop for a break and grab another coffee

1:30pm

Huge jump to lunch time as the rest of the morning is spent working. We'll stop around this time for lunch where I'll have a ham sandwich or some jam on toast

3:15pm

Another large jump but I'll stop again to get another coffee. This is usually my last coffee of the day

5:30pm

I log off work and start dinner. Sometimes, depending on how organised I am, dinner will be ready as I've done it in the slow cooker earlier that day

7:00pm

This is usually the time we'll go out and do a food shop if it's needed. Although these days, what with house renovations, we often find ourselves in B&Q

8:30pm

We come home and watch a bit of telly on the sofa. I might do a bit of blogging or play some games on my iPad while we do this as it helps to relax me

11:30pm

After watching a bit of telly and doing a bit of tidying up ready for the next morning, we'll go to bed, drifting off to sleep at around midnight to quarter past midnight depending on how long it takes me to cleanse my face, moisturise and brush my teeth
