Kicking Off Our Kitchen Renovation with New Patio Doors & Windows: Before & After

We're desperate to start renovating our kitchen, but there are still some things that need doing outside before we even think about ripping out the kitchen and starting again. We like to do everything ourselves, so no kitchen fitters required, but that often means it takes time. However, our kitchen renovation goes far beyond just needing some new kitchen units and a lick of paint.

Part of it involves having new windows and patios doors fitted. They were installed in the mid 90's and they all blown. The door is draughty and let's the wind in. In fact, when the wind blows, even just a little bit, the door sounds like a ghost, haha.

So we thought, before we actually start the kitchen, and rather than do it after a brand new kitchen is fitted, we should replace the windows and doors sooner rather than later. That's what I'm going to be showing you today! You'll see the before pictures below, followed by some pictures of the brand new windows and doors we had fitted, only a couple of weeks ago.

It was a much-needed improvement and we're already experiencing a warmer room. It's also nice not to have the noise when the wind blows through the door, haha. We opted for chrome handles on the patio doors, to match the front doors, but kept white handles on the windows, to match the other windows.

The other windows in the house are new, they were installed by the old owner, but they neglected the kitchen for some reason. So now the house is (almost) done for big-ticket items. Although we have some other developments coming throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled.
