Why One World Trade Center is a Must-Visit During Your NYC Break
When it comes to New York City, most people will choose to go up the Empire State Building to catch incredible views of the city, both at during the day and at night, and rightly so. The Empire State Building offers unrivalled, 360-degree views of the entire city.
But it's such a beautiful building that I think it should be the building to admire the most, along with many others across the area. But how can you get those views? Well, Rockefeller isn't a bad place to start, but you can't go up as high. What about the new One World Trade Center?
It's actually the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and is among the top ten tallest buildings in the world. But those aren't the only reasons to pay it a visit. Here's why One World Trade Center is worth a must-see destination on your New York City travel bucket list.
The views are incredible
As I've just said, One World Center is in the top ten tallest buildings globally, meaning that it will always offer exceptional, unobstructed views of the entire city. You're almost tall enough to be in-line with the helicopters that along the length of the Hudson River.
You can see many landmarks dotted across the city, including views of the Brooklyn Bridge that are unmatched, the Statue of Liberty in all of its glory and, of course, the jewel in NYC's crown; the Empire State Building.
If you want the best, crystal-clear views of NYC and Brooklyn from an unrivalled height, both during the day and at night, then going up One World Trade Center is the the experience you can't pass up.
It's the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere
What's cooler than being able to go up the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere? It literally cannot be done anywhere else in the world. Why go up the Empire State Building when you can catch amazing views of it and admire it from afar atop this towering, almost intimidating, building? It's worth putting at the top of your list of things to do in New York City for this reason alone.
Even the lift (elevator) experience is one of a kind
As someone who has been up the Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Center, I can safely say that the life, or elevator, experience is truly one of a kind. You get in, and around all four sides it begins to build New York City from the ground up.
From colonisation right up to what it's become today, and it really is cool! It brings you all the way up to floor 102, which is incredible in itself. You really want have an experience like this anywhere else in the world.
You can enjoy a drink at the bar
I know, it's typical of me to involve a bar as a reason to visit somewhere, but it really is a bar experience like no other. We sat right in the window and enjoyed a beer flight with a beautiful view of the Empire State Building and the sun shining right down onto it.
What more could you want from a bar experience in the stunning city of New York City? Much like everything else on his list, it's something that no other tower in the area offers, which is why it should be on your list of things to do during your New York City trip.
It stays open long enough to see the New York City skyline at night
Now I know that towers like the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center are open right up until the sun goes down, and we've done both before. It sounds silly, but the experience you get being at that sort of height at night is totally different. It's totally worth the trip down to Lower Manhattan just to go up the Freedom Tower at night. You see New York City in an entirely different way.
