Splendour Festival | The Specials, James & Lawson

So yesterday my Mum and I attended this year's Splendour Festival. Its a relatively small music festival in comparison to events like Glastonbury, but if like me, you hate camping, this is a great alternative as its only on for a day and you get to go home to your warm dry bed at the end of the night. This year, The Specials, James, Lawson, and Jess Glynn were the line up acts on the main stage, however Jess Glynn was recovering from a throat operation and was unable to make it, so Indiana covered for her, and to be honest, I think I preferred Indiana's music to anything Jess Glynn has done, so that was a bonus.
The concert was held at Nottingham's Wollaton Hall, as it is every year around July, the atmosphere is fantastic, plus, its tremendous fun, they have musicians on all day from 11:30am till 10:30pm and there are 3 more stages you can go and visit while you're waiting for the main stage acts to start, there's even a comedy stage you can see where they often have some stand up comedians, some may be local to the area, and others not so much, but its still an incredible experience :)
Here are some photos I took throughout the day, I hope you enjoy them :)
As you can see, there were lots of people there enjoying themselves. This Splendour Festival was the second biggest seller since they started the event in 2008! The atmosphere was incredible and I would highly recommend going if you haven't already. Its great to get all your friends involved as well, it adds to the festival experience :)

We had a lovely picnic packed with scotch eggs, Ritz thin crackers, some lovely bread rolls, bananas, apples, berries, and sparkling water, we had a lovely lunch and bought a couple of apple and pear ciders while we were there as well, we had a great time, beats Saturday Night clubbing any day of the week!

Mum checking the Splendour Facebook page for the line ups ahead.
Someone was celebrating their birthday!

Mum in her cute little sun hat having some lunch :)

I went round to check out some of the other stages, these people looked like they were enjoying themselves watching a local band play :)

Bananarama had just finished playing on this stage :)
People queuing up to get some dinner!
How beautiful is Wollaton Hall?
Every year, there's a fun fair, so if you have kids, its a great way to pass the time while you're waiting for the next act to start!
As the evening drew in, we enjoyed music from The Specials and James, here are some songs you might recognise...
Wollaton Hall at 10:45pm! Its such an incredible building :)

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did making it!

Have you ever been to a music festival?
Which one was it?

See you on Wednesday with a brand new blog post for you all!
