Our Family Trip to Bakewell
On the 26th February, we took a family trip to Bakewell, a picturesque village in the hart of Derbyshire, to mark my brother's birthday. We came over from Wales to see us all which made the time we spent together all the more special. We took a very lovely, long walk around the rolling hills, taking in the views as went along and generally just chatting away, having a wonderful time.
The weather was dry and sunny as well, but a little too windy for my liking, haha. But we layered up, pulled up our collars and embarked on our journey around this beautiful setting. Along the way, we stopped at a quaint little cafe for a cake and coffee and just a little break before setting off again, back towards the town centre.
When we reached the centre of the village again, we stopped at a little pub and had a drink, waiting for the traffic to die down going out of Bakewell. It wasn't exactly a fleeting visit as we spent a long time walking around and taking in the sites. All in all, we're very much looking forward to going back there again and walking one of the other routes and, of course, to buy another Bakewell tart, haha.
Anyway, I took a few pictures along the way and that's why I wanted to create a dedicated blog post, almost as a diary entry that I can look back on in years to come. But I also thought it would be nice for you guys to see what we got up to :)
