A Review: Vitamin E Moisture Gel Cream from The Body Shop

I know what you're thinking: "I've seen this before in another review", but you'd actually be mistaken. I haven't tried this moisturiser in the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop before, so I thought I'd give it a try and then get tell you what I thought to it. The difference with this moisturiser is that it's a gel rather than a cream, much like the Vitamin C gel moisturiser I've tried before, which I also reviewed

But before I start, you can read about the Vitamin E day cream and the Vitamin E night cream I've tried, if you're interested. If those are anything to go by, then you can probably guess what my verdict is going to be with this one before you've even read it, haha. But let's get into it anyway :)

What does the Vitamin E Moisture Gel Cream smell like?

Unsurprisingly, it smells like everything else in the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop. You might be wondering that that scent is, exactly, but I can't really put my finger on its smell, exactly. I can tell you that it just smells fresh and clean.

It has the kind of scent that you would actually look forward to applying to the face in the morning, because the scent alone is refreshing, which can be difficult to find in a facial moisturiser.

Some are either way too floral whereas others are too much the other way, smelling citrusy or herbal, and I'm just not into that. I like the smell of this one because it's just crisp and simple.

What is the Vitamin E Moisture Gel Cream consistency like?

Although the name of the product would have you thinking it was a moisturiser cream, with a creamy consistency to go along with it, you'll actually find that it's more of a gel consistency than anything else. I like this, though, especially for a product that's a day cream.

I find that with the gels, the product dries quickly on the skin, but it still leaves it feeling soft and moisturised, unlike some gels that claim to do the same thing, but actually make your skin feel dry and tight. In that sense, well done with this one, The Body Shop!

How does the Vitamin E Moisture Gel Cream apply on the skin?

Just as you would expect from a gel consistency, it applies beautifully on the skin. You only need a small amount to cover the entire face and it doesn't feel too thin or too thick. It doesn't take any time at all to apply this to the face, and it soaks in and dries off really quickly, providing you with the perfect foundation for your makeup.

What results does the Vitamin E Moisture Gel Cream give?

I love the results that this gel cream gives. The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Gel cream leaves my skin feeling hydrated, smooth and soft to the touch. I also find that those results last into the next day, even if I have removed all of my makeup without topping up the moisturiser afterwards.

I find that the effects of this gel linger on the skin, which is a huge plus for me. It doesn't feel like it's left a film or residue, either. It's simply a good quality gel moisturiser that gives other, more expensive moisturising products a run for their money.
