A Fashion Homage to the London Routemaster
My in-laws know how much I love a good scarf. They also know about my love for London Routemasters. It just reminds me of my childhood. My mum is from that neck of the woods, so we spent plenty of summers in the capital city roaming around and seeing the sights.
Of course, I've been on a far few Routemasters in London in my time, so it's not surprising that it's become a common thread in my adult life, despite not being from the capital myself. However, that love for the London Routemaster has now travelled into my wardrobe in the form of this new scarf I got for Christmas.
From the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden, this scarf is 100% lambs wool and is the pattern of the seats that you'd see on the London Routemasters, mainly the older ones. But I love it that much that I couldn't NOT feature it here on my blog.
You might be looking at it thinking it's a difficult accessory to style, given its pattern. However, you might be surprised to know that it's actually a lot easier than you might have otherwise thought. Given its array of colours, it goes with almost anything that's on the same colour spectrum.
If you're a fan of London transport, like the Routemaster or even different Tube lines, then the London Transport Museum is the place to go. They have everything from socks the same pattern as the Circle Line to cushions the same pattern as the District Line. They also make for quirky gifts!
