Beefeater Blackberry Gin: 5 Reasons Why You Should Give it a Go This Summer

I'm a massive gin lover, and so I'm always looking for a new flavour to try or a new mixer to add to it to elevate it from a traditional G&T to something delicious and that I've never tried before. So when I saw this blackberry gin by Beefeater, I couldn't resist it. It sounded fruity and tasty, so it drew me in from the shelf, basically, haha. Anyway, here are a few reasons why I like it and why you should give it a go this summer.

1. Fruity flavour

This gin has a bitter-sweet blackberry taste to it. It's layered with classic gin botanicals, therefore making it taste smoother and more approachable than a traditional dry gin. This is especially the case if you don't like strong juniper-heavy spirits.

2. Still has a distinctly gin taste

Sometimes, a flavoured gin can put people off the beverage, largely down to it being masked by overly fruity flavours. However, with this gin, despite being blackberry-flavoured, it has a traditional London Dry base, complete with hints of juniper, citrus and spices. Therefore, you get the best of both worlds with this gin - familiarity but with a fruity, delicious twist.

3. It's a versatile spirit for a range of drinks

This blackberry gin works well with tonics and cocktails, like brambles or spritzes. It's designed to be easy to mix or as a tasty casual drink, not just for serious cocktail setups. I like to keep mine simple, using a classic tonic water over ice, with a double shot of this amazing gin.

4. Finish is refreshed & balanced

This gin tends to have a light, refreshing finish with citrus and floral notes. So, it's not overly heavy, which is definitely a good trait in a gin spirit. It's good if you want something less harsh than straight spirits or less harsh than traditional gin.

5. Excellent for beginners

This gin is perfect for those who want to make a fruity cocktail-style drink, but without the hassle of learning how to shake or stir a fruity cocktail from scratch. It's also great if you want to add a simple fruity twist to an otherwise conventional G&T.
