6 Reasons to Have Your Boiler Serviced

Boilers. They're not exactly the most exciting of things. But they're depended on every single day to heat our rooms and provide us with hot water. We're far more dependent on them than you might have otherwise thought.

So when something goes wrong, it can be really disruptive to everyday life. But how can we make sure that our boiler remains in top condition throughout the year? Have it serviced. Here are some other benefits of having regular boiler services, annually:

1. It keeps the boiler under warranty

I don't know about you, but our boiler is brand new. In order to keep it under warranty, we have to keep it serviced and those services need to be logged in the boiler book. If it's not serviced annually, and something fails on it, we could be left with a hefty bill, rather than calling on Worcester Bosch to repair it under warranty. If you want to avoid large bills when something fails, then keep it serviced to keep the manufacturer warranty.

2. It enables the boiler to run more efficiently

Boilers need to run efficiently in order to heat your home and provide hot water as and when needed. If your boiler isn't running efficiently, it can mean higher energy bills and cold radiators. If you want to make sure your heating and hot water is readily available, then regular boiler services are the way to go.

3. You save money on repairs

A boiler service, much like a car service, will tell you when something looks as though it's failing. If it is, then a small problem can be fixed easily and cheaply, when compared to larger repairs as a result of neglect over time. See a service as a type of insurance for your boiler.

4. It extends the lifespan of your boiler

Having your boiler service ensures its longevity. By making sure everything that needs to work is, and repairing any little niggles that arise, will elongate the lifespan of your boiler. This way, rather than lasting 15 years, it will last 20, for instance. This is more the case if the boiler is relatively new, but it does help in the long run, regardless of the age of your boiler.

5. It gets your home winter-ready

Along with overall efficiency of the boiler, a service can include the balancing and bleeding of the radiators. This can depend on the service plan you have or the firm you've chosen to do the service for you. However, you then know that your boiler is in full working order when you need to rely on it the most, giving you peace of mind when the cold season sets in.

6. It keeps everyone safe

Your boiler needs to be marked as safe. If they're leaking, for instance, this can pose a deadly threat to everyone who lives inside the building. A faulty boiler also increases the risk of carbon monoxide leaks, which is a silent and deadly killer. Have your boiler service if you want to make sure everyone in the home is safe.
