Everything I Loved in May
I can't believe that we're half way through the year already. What a month it has been for us, what with birthdays and house bits and pieces going on, along with booking a holiday and having my nails done. I don't know where I found the time to do it all. But here's everything I loved throughout the month of May!
Black tie birthday event
This month, there was a 50th birthday in the family, and the event was black tie. Naturally, Tom wore a tuxedo and I went for a sparkly black dress with black heels and my Ted Baker bag. It was such a good evening. We drank and danced the night away, not leaving till around 1am! That's how you know you're having a great time :)
New fascias, soffits, gutters & dry verge
I'm aware that the picture below doesn't have a completely linked up down pipe, but the people doing it hadn't actually finished at this point. We were just so excited to see the dry verge, soffits and fascia boards up. It's all finished now and we can finally sit and admire it as a whole, but it was a long time coming. If you're ever had the same work done, you'll understand what I mean!
Making some headway in the garden
Our garden project has been going on for around a year now and we're still not completely finished. We still have some wall tiling to do, but our steps have been built and we have a lot of work to do with our garage roof, which we're doing ourselves.
When you do everything yourself, it adds time to the project, but I think we've saved a considerable amount of money doing it this way, rather than hiring people to do it for us. It's still ongoing, but I don't think it will be long now before I'm uploading a before and after garden renovation post, so keep your eyes peeled.
Lancome Tresor 'Midnight Rose'
This is a blast from the past perfume for me. I had a bottle of it once when I was 20 and it was my favourite scent EVER. Then it disappeared off the shelves and I couldn't find it anywhere, that was until we went on the ferry to Ireland for my brother's wedding and I found it in Duty Free.
I couldn't believe my eyes. So now, whenever I get the chance, I have a spritz. But I don't want it to run out, so I'm trying to balance it with other perfumes in my collection. Let me know which scent is your favourite so I can change it up again next time I need a new perfume in my collection.
Booking a holiday
This month, we booked a holiday, due to go in the autumn. I won't tell you where we're going, that's a surprise. But it's somewhere I have never been before and I am so excited to spend a week there. Keep your eyes peeled in October to see where it is we ventured off to.
My summery nails
I had my nails done this month and I absolutely love them. I think it's my new favourite nail colour. It will be difficult to choose something else next month, but you never know, I might just stick to this gorgeous colour. Take a look at my dedicated nails blog post this month.
