Superfood Summer Smoothies
I have wanted to publish this post for a little while now, and I'm terribly sorry it's taken me this long to finally publish it, but better late than never right? Also, I wouldn't have said that Summer has fully got under way just yet, so there's plenty of time for you to make and enjoy these smoothies with friends at a picnic, family at a BBQ or even just for you to sip on while you relax on a sun lounger reading your favourite book! You could also opt for one of these for breakfast, as another meal substitute or as a healthy pudding option! Either way, I'm going to tell you how I made all three, and how they tasted! Enjoy :)
TROPICAL BLEND
Calories Per Serving: 361 approx.
Ingredients...
*1 frozen banana
*1 small peach
*A handful of mango chunks
*1 small orange (segmented)
*1 carrot (chopped)
*A handful of raspberries
*A splash of water
Chuck in a blender, pour, serve and enjoy :)
This one isn't as sweet as the others. If you enjoy refreshing smoothies in the morning then this would be the one to go for! It still awakens the taste buds as the mango and orange blend make it a lot more zingy in flavour, the peach and carrot help offset the sour taste and take the edge off the sweet zesty flavour.
CHOCOLATE BERRY MIX
Calories Per Serving: 316 approx.
Ingredients...
*1 frozen banana
*2 tbsp. cherry yogurt
*A handful of blueberries
* A handful of raspberries
*A handful of strawberries
*1 tsp Nutella
*A splash of water
Chuck in a blender, pour, serve and enjoy :)
This one would be wonderful to have as an alternative to dessert or pudding. It isn't citrusy or zesty, it's creamy and fruity. This is definitely one to go for if you have a slightly sweeter tooth!
GREEN INFUSION
Calories Per Serving: 298 approx.
Ingredients...
*1 frozen banana
*1 kiwi (chopped)
*A handful of kale
*A handful of spinach
*A handful of pineapple chunks
*A splash of water
Chuck in a blender, pour, serve and enjoy :)
This one is good to have in the morning, or you could have it as a meal substitute. It tastes a lot more tangy than the previous two, it is pretty delicious, although it is my least favourite of the three. Still, it's super tasty and I would definitely make it again!
