5 Ways Non-Bloggers Can Support Their Blogging Friends

It can be strange when you have a friend who blogs, especially if you personally don't have an interest in it, or don't quite understand what it means or the work it entails. It can also be weird having them bring cameras around with them all the time, taking pictures of anything and everything in the hope that they'll be able to get a good blog post out of it.

But while it may not be your bag, it doesn't mean that you can't be supportive and understanding of their hobby at the same time. For some, it may not just be a hobby, but a part or full time job, something that pays their bills or affords them a couple of mini breaks every six months. Either way, here are some tips to help non-blogging friends further support their blogging friends!

Read what is published

I speak from experience on this one. It's always nice to know that your friends are reading what you've written, and believe it or not, us bloggers like knowing when people we know have read what we've written. This isn't an egocentric thing, it's more about knowing that the time and effort you spend writing and taking photos and preparing for certain blog posts hasn't entirely gone to waste.

Where I've only ever received lovely, positive feedback, it's just nice to hear that someone you know and care about has taken a short time out of their day to read what you've written and enjoy the pictures you've taken. So next time you read a blogging friend's latest post, let them know or leave a friendly, positive comment, just to make them aware that you've made the effort to read their new content.

Sharing is caring

Reading a new post is one thing, but sharing it with your social media followers, other friends or family, you're helping to spread the word, thus making all the work that's put into a single blog post, worth it. Not only will it help to increase their traffic, but it can increase their flowers across all platforms potentially, ensuring as many people as possible are reading the content that takes an incredible amount of time and effort to create and subsequently publish. It doesn't take long to hit the 'share' or 'retweet' button, so make your blogger friends' day and share, share, share!

Give us a cheeky follow

It's all very well and good sharing what your blogger friends write, but it's also nice to know that you're following our social media platforms to stay up to date with our latest content. The more you follow and engage with us and out content, the more traffic will it will drive, therefore increasing our following across more than one platform. It allows more and more people to read what we've written and check out the photos we take the time to take, increasing our blogs' popularity. It all helps, much more than you know.

Ask us questions

Although you may think you're being a pain in the arse by asking us about our blogs and what we write, you're in fact being the total opposite. We love to talk about our blogs, feel free to ask questions about it or the content we publish. Maybe even ask to get involved, be a guest blogger and write a post for us if you're feeling confident enough.

Alternatively, you could be and interviewee, where your blogger friend could ask you questions about fashion, beauty or lifestyle depending on their niche. Don't be afraid to ask us about anything you don't quite understand, we'll be more than happy to explain it all!
