Birchbox | May
Yay, it's Birchbox time, and you know what that means? Another month of sifting through new cosmetics I can try. If you're a regular reader of my Birchbox posts, you'll know that I wasn't too impressed by last month's box. But I feel like this one made up for it slightly. So lets delve in!
2019 Boxes
2018 Boxes
Packaging
I was very pleased to see that this month, they had dropped the mirror idea from last month's box. I much prefer the simplistic, slide out box. I also rather like the design on this box. It definitely screams spring, put it that way, even down to the packing materials that sit inside the box.
Contents
Lord & Berry, Line/Shade Eye Pencil, Black, (RRP £13)
If you know me, you'll understand how much eye liner I use. I wear it every single day, without fail. Although I'm a little snobby when it comes to my eye makeup, using mainly Lancôme mascaras and eye liners, this one looks like a great quality pencil. The proof is in the wearing though, so I'll report back if it's any good.
"Liner can transform the way your eyes look in an instant. Made with kajal and kohl, this one's long-lasting formula glides on like a dream, no matter your level of expertise. Rich in pigment and ultra-blendable, it can also be smudged out for a gorgeously soft, smokey effect."
Rituals, Sakura Hand Balm, (RRP £9.90) - FULL SIZE PRODUCT
The last thing I needed was another hand cream, but I get through them like nobody's business, so I didn't mind. This smells pleasant enough, and it's quite a nice, thick and creamy texture. So I'm looking forward to using this when the one I'm currently using runs out.
"Your hard-working hands go through a lot. Help make it up to them with this luxurious hand balm. Formulated with skin softening shea butter and rice milk as well as beautifully fragrant cherry blossom, this handbag-friendly tube makes on-the-go hydration simple."
Beautaniq Beauty, Nourishing Mascara, (RRP £12)
As I've previously said, I'm a bit of a mascara snob. So giving this one a try should make for a nice change. You never know, it might even become my new favourite!
"Not only does this mascara thicken, lengthen and volumise your lashes, it nourishes them at the same time. How? A hard-working formula enriched with almond oil and oleic acid. Make sure you shimmy the brush back and forth to grip every lash from root to tip."
Mimitika, Face Sunscreen, SPF 50, (RRP £17.50)
I must say, I've never used a sunscreen that's been specifically for my face, and often, foundation doesn't cut it during those hot summer days. So it'll be interesting to see how effective this is when the time comes for sweltering heat.
"Not only does this SPF defend against harmful rays, it's chock-full of antioxidant vitamin E to deeply hydrate and further protect your skin. The lightweight formula sinks in quickly with a velvety finish, never leaves an unsightly white cast, and is free from harmful ingredients. What a dream!"
Philip Kingsley, Elasticiser, (RRP £9.50) - FULL SIZE PRODUCT
Again, I have never used a hair elasticiser. SO this will be an entirely new experience, let's hope it isn't a bad one!
"This award-winning pre-shampoo treatment - which works with all hair types - adds elasticity, manageability, hydration and shine whilst reducing breakage. Apply to damp hair for a minimum of 10 minutes, rinse, and follow with shampoo and conditioner as usual."
