Blogmas (Day 14) | December's Birchbox

How am I here, discussing December's Birchbox already? 2018 has gone so fast hasn't it? Today I'm going to delve into the contents that were sent to me this month. As first impressions go, I'm pretty impressed with it already. It's a lot more full than Birchbox's I've been sent in the past, not only that, I feel like I'd use pretty much everything in here. I like Birchbox as all of their products are travel friendly. My boyfriend and I travel around a lot, and so these samples come in really handy for a weekend away from home. Also, how cute is the packaging this month, it's so festive!

If you're interested, you can see what I was sent on previous occasions, by Birchbox.

Rituals: The Ritual of Ayurveda Body Cream - (RRP £19.50)

I'm quite excited about giving this a try. I prefer body butter really when it comes to a deep and luxurious moisturiser, but sometimes, a cream can feel lighter, easier to work into the skin and quicker to sink in. There are loads of advantages to a body cream you don't get with a butter and that's why I'm looking forward to getting back into the spirit of using a body cream to moisturise. It would be interesting to see how well equipped it is to handle my skin in this cold weather!

"This body cream is the ultimate multitasker - rejuvenating both body and mind. Combining the irresistible aroma of Indian rose with pampering Himalyan honey, the nourishing formula sinks in quickly yo hydrate your skin and calm the senses. Massage into clean skin daily for super-soft limbs."

LARITZY Cosmetics - (RRP £20) FULL SIZE PRODUCT

How gorgeous is this shade of lipstick? I've been on the lookout for a lipstick pretty much this colour, so you can imagine how chuffed I was to receive this in my Birchbox this month. I am yet to swatch it and try it out on the lips, but I will do and I'll be sure to report back to you, you never know, it could end up in a monthly or current favourites at some point soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that one!

"This liquid formula delivers rich, pigmented colour that seriously won't budge. Plus, the comfortable texture means it won't settle into the lines of your lips or leave them feeling dried out. Just apply it directly to your lips using the wand and relax knowing that there's no need to re-apply throughout the day."

Balance Me 'Flash Cleanse' Micellar Water - (RRP £16)

I'm going to be honest with this one, I don't like using these micellar waters. I prefer facial wipes. We all have our preferences, regardless of the fact they're now saying makeup wipes aren't good for your skin, I'll always swear by the wipe. However, my mum uses micellar water to remove her makeup and she thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread. So I'm willing to give this one a try, I'll let you know if it converts me!

"Gently remove makeup and sweep away impurities with this 99% natural cleansing water. A soothing blend of peptides, chamomile, neroli and mandarin support your skin's natural regeneration process and fight signs of ageing. Just apply to a cotton pad and sweep over dry skin. No rinsing required!"

Birchbox Hair Comb - (RRP £5)

I have been looking for something like this for a while, it's one of those things where I thought I'd get round to buying one eventually, it wasn't imperative I bought one ASAP, it was just as and when. So Birchbox have saved me a job with this one. It's just handy to have to comb wet hair to avoid split ends. Definitely something I'd use.

"This plastic comb is hard on tangles but easy on your hair. The wide teeth help work through stubborn knots without causing breakage. We love using it on hair mask day to comb the product through our tresses for a root-to-tip treatment."

Percy & Reed 'Totally TLC' Hydrating Mask - (RRP £22)

I'm a little naughty when it comes to hair masks, because I don't really use them basically. It's probably bad of me and not good for my hair, but I don't always think it's necessary to treat your hair with this that and the other. But this seems to have had some good reviews online, so I'm willing to let the hair mask detachment slide for one pamper evening.

"No matter how thick or thin your hair is, all strands need one thing: moisture. This is just the mask to give them what they crave. Brimming with nourishing ingredients, it leaves hair soft, manageable and conditioned. Use it in place of your conditioner, leave for 2-3 minutes, then rinse and style as usual."

Oh K! Bubble Sheet Mask - (RRP £7.50) FULL SIZE PRODUCT

I love a good face mask, so when I saw this in the box, I was pleased to be able to add yet another mask to my collection. So all in all, a triumphant box this month. I'm interested to see what makes it a 'bubble' sheet mask as apposed to just a sheet mask, so I'll try it and let you know.

"This innovative sheet mask reacts with the oxygen in the air to form tiny bubbles when you place it on your face. Not only does it result in a hilariously foamy face but it purifies and smooths skin for a radiant complexion. Apply to clean skin, leave for 10 minutes, then remove and rinse your face clean."

Hotel Chocolat 'Chocolate Duo'

I do believe that this is just a gift from Birchbox seeing at it's their Christmas box. It's a cute addition to an otherwise successful selection of samples this month and everyone loves chocolate, well done Birchbox, you've done it again!

"We're advocates of treating yourself all year round but there's something about December that calls for a little extra indulgence!"
