4 Breakfast Ideas for Christmas Morning

Christmas is just around the corner and nothing screams Christmas morning more than a delicious whopping great breakfast to start the day off right. But whether you prefer something that's warm and baked or scrambled or fried, there's bound to be something on this list that tickles your fancy. What will you be cooking this Christmas morning? Let's take a look at all of the possibilities!

1. Croissants & honey

A simple option but a family favourite, this is a breakfast option that can be eaten warm or cold - whatever your preferences are. Also, the great thing about croissants is that you can also decide what to have with it. Don't like honey? Have some jam or even keep it simple with some golden syrup or a slither of butter. You could even make it Christmassy and stuff it with some mince meat or feather some cinnamon and sugar over the top of it. It's so tasty-yet-versatile which is why it's so popular, especially at this time of year.

2. Scrambled eggs & chives

Another classic, this requires a little more effort than simply unwrapping a croissant from a packet and warming it up in the oven, as delicious and as convenient as that might be. This takes Christmas morning breakfast to a whole new level, especially with the sprinkle of chopped chives over the top. We all know how to make scrambled eggs, so I won't delve into that, but let's face it, it does make an epic start to any day, and Christmas is no different.

3. Waffles, maple syrup & crispy bacon

Waffles are another step up from scrambled eggs, in my opinion, unless you're buying them pre-made. Usually, waffles require waffle makers or waffle irons, which is why they're a little more complicated, but making the batter and frying up some bacon is somewhat simple. A tasty-yet-naughty breakfast, it's makes for a great treat come Christmas morning, if you're prepared for the clean-up afterwards.

4. Christmas omelette with red & green pepper

Coming in as simpler than waffles, omelettes are about on-par with scrambled eggs. The only difference is that you're cooking your eggs into a disc shape and you're sprinkling it with cheese and peppers. Why red and green peppers? Because they're red and green! What says "festive" more than red and green, well, anything? The same goes for red and green omelettes because why not, eh?
