4 Reasons Why I Love Having Tulips Around the House
Tulips. They're everywhere right now, and they have been since February. But I'm always grateful for their early appearance because I will always buy a bunch and have them in the house from now until, probably, May. But why do I love them so much? Here are four reasons why I will always have tulips in my house throughout the spring season.
1. They're colourful
From one time to the next, I don't know what colour tulips I'll have in my house. That's because they're always available in loads of different shades. I've had yellow, white, pink, light pink, orange and even red tulips before. I like choosing a colour based on how I'm feeling at the time. I like to have either yellow, white or pink, however, over the Easter weekend!
2. They're symbolic of the end of winter
Whenever I see tulips available to buy in the supermarket or at the local village florist, I always feel relief, because I feel like winter is finally coming to an end. It signals the start of warmer, brighter days and I couldn't be more down for that!
3. They look amazing
I always think that tulips look gorgeous, no matter their length or colour. I think I like the fact that no two stems are the same. They're not perfect or uniform and that's what makes them look so natural, like a good bunch of fresh flowers, essentially. No matter the vase you put them in, or how short you cut the stems, they always look at-home regardless of where they sit in your house.
4. They last a long time in a vase
The great thing about tulips is that they last a long time in a vase. I can have around two or three weeks of fresh colour and blooms out of the tulips I buy. While their colour will fade over time, they still look just as incredible as the day I first bought them. But it's no big deal because they're so inexpensive to buy, as well, so buying fresh ones is never a problem. In fact, I look forward to it because I can pick a new colour every time, too!
