4 Ways to Spend Your Easter Weekend

Easter is nearly upon, and as much I think we're all looking forward to an extended break over that period, you might be itching to get some activities done. Whether you want to cook a wholesome meal for the entire family or hold a traditional Easter egg hunt, here are four things you could do this Easter weekend. You could do them all in the same day or spread it out over the entire Bank Holiday - it's up to you!

1. Go for a walk

This is something that is free, fun and healthy for the whole family to enjoy. Depending on the weather, you could spend the entire day walking around your local town or you could venture out a bit further and visit a National Trust site to stretch your legs.

If you do, you may well find that the National Trust have some Easter activities planned for the children to enjoy. Whether you decide to walk around the block or make a day of it, you can't be a beautiful, spring-time walk. You may even see some beautiful blue bells and snow drops along the way.

2. Hold an Easter gathering

You don't have to celebrate Easter the traditional way, but if you wanted to hold a gathering, it could just be something as simple as getting friends over for a coffee and to share some cake. If the weather is nice, then it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy the first blooms of the year, after their winter slumber. If that sounds too laid back for you, then ask people round to share some food with you, whether it be a roast dinner or a table full of picky-bits, it's always a wonderful idea to hold an Easter gathering.

3. Cook up a roast dinner, or go out for one instead

Easter is all about the roast dinner. Lamb is the traditional meat eaten at Easter, but it's not always everyone's cup of tea. You could switch it up for pork, beef, chicken or something that's veggie, if you'd prefer. It's the perfect excuse to get everyone round on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy the festivities. Although, if you're not liking the sound of cooking a roast dinner yourself, then you could always go out for one instead - why not pass the work onto someone else? Haha.

4. Have an Easter egg hunt

An Easter egg hunt is one of the most traditional Easter activities you can do. Although it's meant, mainly, for children, you could switch it up somewhat and put an adult-spin on it...no, not like that, haha! Instead of Easter eggs, hide miniature bottles of booze or some chocolate liqueurs to jazz things up a bit, but just make sure that there won't be any tiny human hands that can pick them up.

The great thing about an Easter egg hunt is that they can be done either outside or indoors, depending on the weather. That's the thing about March, it could do anything. It could be snowing, raining, hailing, sunny, cloudy or just bright and dry. You can't plan anything around what the weather is going to do at this time of year, but an Easter egg hunt can be done at the drop of the hat, and in accordance with the weather - what's there not to love?
