Why You Should Consider Hiring a Copywriter

Copywriters are people who write professional texts for a wide range of different companies, industries and purposes. So if you have a business that has a blog or news page or if you need website pages to be rewritten to a professional, high-quality standard, then hiring a copywriter is something you need to do, and for good reason. I'm a digital copywriter by trade, so I'm here to tell you exactly what we can do for your company - let's begin, shall we?

You can focus on what you do best

Instead of focusing all of your leftover energy on creating content for your website, you'll be able to shift that focus onto your business and what it is you do best, all whilst letting us copywriters get on with what it is we do best. It can be tempting to try and write the copy yourself, but this never ends well if you haven't specialised like us copywriters have.

Even AI tools and robots who write content pieces for you are a big no-no in our industry, mainly because Google hates it, it'll sound robotic with no personality and there might even be grammatical mistakes and spelling errors throughout. Instead of worrying about ensuring the quality of your content, cut out the middle man and hire someone who knows exactly how to execute your copy properly.

You don't have to worry about writing over your clients' heads

If you own a digital marketing agency, for example, and have been writing copy yourself with no previous experience or specialism in the art of writing, then hiring a copywriter will pay dividends. This is because your copywriter will manage all of the content your produce for your clients, ensuring you can focus on other things.

Client management in this regard also includes getting client approval for article ideas and website copy, so you won't have to worry about producing and publishing content that your customer hasn't approved or given their permission for. You'll be able to carry on as you were with complete peace of mind that all of your clients' content needs are being met by a friendly, experienced professional - a copywriter.

Online grammar & spelling checkers aren't all they're cracked up to be

As already touched upon, you cannot rely on AI and robots to write your copy for you. The same goes for spelling and grammar checkers. They do not pick up on everything, so proofreading will still be needed, not once, not twice, but around three times.

People who are not copywriters or who have no or limited experience as a writer will not understand the importance of this, instead relying on online tools and robots to do the leg work for them. Nothing beats the keen eye of a professional copywriter.

If you don't have the time to thoroughly read through the copy you have written, then it;s time to hire someone who knows what they're doing - they'll probably be able to do it far quicker than you as well.

You probably don't know the difference between emails, press releases, blog posts & articles, but a CW does!

Each content piece contains different types of copy. From microcopy to macrocopy and long-form pieces, you must know the difference between each one in order to produce high-quality content every single time. A copywriter will know the difference between each piece of content, to a magnificent extent also.

For example, you do not write a press release in the same way you'd write an article, but then an article and a blog post should also be written differently - it might surprise you to know that they aren't the same. Microcopy is also used in different settings. You wouldn't produce microcopy for emails or newsletters, but you would for infographics and social media ads.

Long-form content isn't suitable for emails or even social media posts, but it is more appropriate for newsletters, press releases, articles and blog posts. If you can't tell the difference between a newsletter and a press release or a blog post and an article, then you need to seriously consider hiring a professional copywriter.

Their specialism is content writing

A copywriter didn't spend three years at university to have someone else think they can do what they do, only to execute it poorly. Use the skilled workforce that's around you and hire someone who has spent years specialising in a topic that you need specific help with.

The rates for a copywriter are highly-reasonable, starting at £40 an hour for a freelance professional writer whereas day rates could range anywhere between £350 and £500. Depending on your budget, you should seriously consider hiring a copywriter to keep on top of your content for you.
