How to Stay Productive When the Sun is Calling You
It's bittersweet when the weather is nice and you're stuck inside all day working. It's easy to become distracted, wishing you were outside instead of in front of a computer screen. But there are somethings you can do to make sure that you're staying productive while the sun is calling you...here's how it can be done while the sun shines:
Get up a bit earlier
A great way of making sure that the sun doesn't distract you from doing your job is to make sure that you're getting up a little earlier. Enjoy a cup of coffee or have some breakfast outside in the sunshine before you start work. This will set you up for a great working day ahead.
Take regular breaks
Just as you'd normally take regular breaks throughout the working day, even if when it's cold outside, you should continue to take those short breaks, but go and have a walk around the garden for a bit and then go back to work. It only takes five minutes, and that's all you need if you want to take a break from looking at a screen.
Eat your lunch outside
As soon as the lunch hour rolls around, make yourself some food and take it outside. Even if you just enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, bring it out to your garden and enjoy it in the sunshine, listening to the birds chirping and the tree leaves rustling.
Enjoy the evenings
As soon as the working day is over, shut everything down and venture outside. We like to eat our dinner in the garden when the weather is nice. It gives us a bit of time to enjoy the sunshine and to get some fresh air after being inside all day.
Do some work outside
Perhaps one of the easiest and most effective ways of staying motivated when the sun is calling you is to simply take your laptop and work outside, if possible. If you have a power source and a laptop, then all is good. Just take your computer outdoors and enjoy the sunshine that way. Just make sure to stay hydrated and wear some sun cream.
