6 Reasons Why You're Never Too Old for Walt Disney World
If you've been following my blog for a while now, then you'll know how much we love visiting Walt Disney World, and there's a good reason for that. There's a common misconception that it's a place for kids, but if that's what you think about Disney parks, then you're mistaken for sure. There's so much involved in a Disney, meaning there's something there for literally everyone! Here's why I believe you're never too old for Walt Disney World.
1. It's all about nostalgia
Whether you've been to a Disney park before or not, visiting Walt Disney World is all about the nostalgia. For me, it's all about the films that we used to watch as kids. I see different movies in different aspects of the park and it makes me think of something from my childhood every single time.
This is why I'm normally quite emotional at the firework shows and all of the other entertainment they put on. For me, part of visiting Walt Disney World is all about the nostalgia and that's why I will never be too old for Walt Disney World.
2. There are loads of attractions & rides to enjoy
There is something there for everyone, whether you're 1 or 99, there are loads of shows, attractions and rides to enjoy. Basically, Walt Disney World never gets old, and neither do you while you're there. It makes everyone feel like Peter Pan - you never grow up.
From sit down attractions like The Carousel of Progress and The Hall of Presidents to thrill rides like Expedition: Everest and Tron, to walk-throughs like Moana's Journey of Water to the sea life in the Finding Nemo attraction, there's something there for everyone to enjoy.
3. You can enjoy some amazing food
If rides, attractions and shows aren't really your thing, then maybe food and drink is? Throughout all of the parks and hotels, there are loads of restaurants and quick service establishments you can visit that provide amazing, delicious food that can be enjoyed by all.
The great thing is, there are loads of cuisines to enjoy, from traditional burgers and hot dogs to salads, Japanese food and authentic African dishes, the world is your oyster if you're a foodie.
A great time to go is when EPCOT hold their festivals, usually throughout the spring and summer. Take a look at this blog post where I detail some of my favourite snacks that are totally worth the money at the Walt Disney World parks.
4. There are no age restrictions
Unless you have a child that's two foot tall and they want to ride Slinky Dog Dash, then there are no age restrictions, only height restrictions. If you feel like even the most hardcore of thrill rides is for you, then go for it, no matter how old you are. Just make sure you read the warnings on the sign before you get on, the ones that tell you not to ride if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, or motion sickness, to name just a few.
5. You get to feel like a kid again
Walking through the streets of Main Street USA, smelling that sweet vanilla bakery scent, looking at all of the balloons and listening to the music being played just makes you feel like a kid again. You get to walk in and out of the shops while munching on a rice krispy treat and sipping on ice cold slushies in the hot sunshine.
What could make you feel like more of a child than that? I constantly think about the next ride I'm going to go on rather than when I get to sit down. It just does something to you, something that no other theme park can do, in my opinion. I know, having visited Universal Studios, that Disney has a little extra magic that's constantly being pumped out.
6. You'll make some amazing memories
No matter how old you get, you can always make some new memories. Disney allows for that because you're often going with family. For those who have been going to Disney World all of their life, they've probably been going with their parents, and then their partners and then their own children and then their children with their parents and the whole cycle goes round again.
It's constantly paving the way for making new memories, either with new people or the same ones. No matter how old you get, Walt Disney World will give you the opportunity to make some incredible new memories, building on the old ones.
