Ever since owning a car, I was always of the mind that servicing my car was a waste of time and money. I'd make sure it was MOT'ed, of course, and I'd have the oil changed if the light came on, but a regular service wasn't something I was interested in.
However, having bought a newer, more expensive car, servicing it seems to be the best way forward so that my new car holds its value, which is just one benefit of a service plan. A service will almost always involve an oil change, unless it's an interim service. An oil change is something that you should be doing once a year anyway, whether you have it serviced or not. It keeps the engine running smoothly and it can also improve fuel efficiency, helping you save money in the long run.
