4 Signs Your Sleep Routine Needs An Overhaul
Sleep is great. Everyone loves to sleep, but sometimes, we go to bed at night and something just isn't working or doesn't feel right. Maybe it takes you forever to fall asleep or maybe you wake up feeling more tired than when you went to bed the night before. Here are four signs that you need to overhaul your sleep routine.
1. You're always hitting "snooze"
Getting a full night's sleep is great, but when you wake up the next morning and you keep hitting 'snooze', then it's evident you're waking up not feeling refreshed. When you wake up in the morning, you should feel ready to take on the world, not keep snuggling under your bed sheets. Set one alarm and get up when you hear it ringing. If you have trouble doing that, then it's time for you to overhaul your sleep routine.
2. You have trouble falling asleep
Sometimes, I have trouble falling asleep, mainly because my mind is focused on other things. I find myself thinking about all sorts of things before I fall asleep at night. Sometimes it can take me over an hour to fall asleep after going to bed.
So I know that feeling. If this is you, too, then it's time to overhaul your sleep routine. Something I have found useful is to practice mindfulness, listening to podcasts or music that is relaxing and gives me something else to focus on.
3. You can't concentrate during the day
Struggling to concentrate during the day is a clear sign that you're not sleeping well, or that your sleep is disturbed. If you're wanting to improve your concentration levels, whether it be in your personal ventures or your work life, then it's a clear sign your sleep routine needs to be overhauled.
4. You wake up feeling tired
Waking up feeling tired is another clear sign that your sleep routine needs overhauling. It shows that you've not rested well, and your brain hasn't had time to completely shut off and recharge. This is why you might find yourself waking up feeling just as tired as when you went to bed the previous night.
