4 Things I'm Saying "No" to This Christmas

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year, but it can often get too busy, too expensive and too overwhelming. So what I've decided to do is say "no" to a few things this festive season to make things more relaxed, chilled out and, overall, more enjoyable. So what am I saying "no" to this Christmas? Let's take a look:

1. Committing to too much

Christmas is a busy time of year, and we've already had a very busy 12 months generally, as-is. The last thing I want to do is put too much on my plate this Christmas, to the point where I go back to work in the New Year feeling groggy and tired-out. I want to return feeling refreshed and ready to take on another jam-packed year, which is why I'll be saying no to committing to too much this festive season.

2. Trying to make everything perfect

As I've just said, Christmas is a busy time of year. I don't really have the time to make everything in the home perfect as can be, but I will take the time to make it look as festive as possible.

Gone are the days of making sure every light is in its place and that every decoration is say exactly where I want it. It is what it is this Christmas. The same goes for the food and the get togethers that we like to put on over the festive season. I'm letting go and saying no to perfection this Christmas.

3. Spending too much money

As I've got older, Christmas has become more about spending as much time as possible with friends and family while I have some time to myself. As such, I'm saying no to spending way too much money this Christmas.

I can often go overboard at this time of year, whether it's on food and drink or on people's presents. But this year, I'm scaling it back and going with the flow. I'd rather spend less money and more time with those i love.

4. Worrying about what everyone else thinks

It's not the time for judging anyone, and I don't judge other people generally, let alone at Christmas. So if I'm not doing it, then who is? As such, I'm worrying far less about what people think of me, my Christmas decorations, the presents I buy or the food I prepare. I'm all about going with the flow and enjoying the festive season in my own way, whether people like it or not. That's why I'm saying no to worrying about what everyone else thinks.
