Blogmas Day 15 | A Recipe: Cinnamon & Ginger Sugar Cookies
Welcome back to Blogmas day 15! I'll be publishing a festive blog post every day on the run up to Christmas Day, so keep checking back for some Christmassy content. Today, I'll be telling you how you can make your very own cinnamon and ginger sugar cookies that you can press into your chosen Christmas shape of choice. Let's get into it!
Serves: 20-30 (depending on the size of the cutters)
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10-12 mins
Ingredients
*100g butter
*100g caster sugar
*200g plain flour
*1 egg
*1-2tbsp cinnamon
*2-4tsp ginger
Method
1. Put the sugar and the butter in the bowl and beat together
2. Break the egg into the bowl and continue to combine
3. Sieve in the flour, the cinnamon and the ginger
4. Keep combining until the mixture turns into a dough
5. Flour the worktop and tip out the giant dough ball
6. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to no thinner than 1cm
7. Cut out the dough with your chosen cookie cutters
8. Set aside while you preheat the oven to 180C/160F/gas mark 4
9. Grease a couple of baking trays and line with baking paper
10. Put the cookie dough out onto the tray and place in the oven for 10-12 mins
11. Once finished, take out of the oven and scoop out onto cooling racks
12. As soon they've cooled to a nice temperature, serve
