Blogmas Day 2 | Christmas Pantomime 2025 at the Nottingham Playhouse: Sleeping Beauty
Welcome to Blogmas day 2! I'll be publishing a festive blog post every single day on the run-up to Christmas right here on my blog. Here's the latest instalment - our annual trip to the Nottingham Playhouse to see the Christmas pantomime. We've been going every single year since 1999, so it's a big occasion in our family. This year, it was Sleeping Beauty. Let me tell you what I thought!
They took the classic story of Sleeping Beauty and adapted it for modern day audiences. The story itself was fun and edgy, but packed with adult jokes. While some of them were close to the bone, others were laugh-out-loud funny! It was highly entertaining and didn't disappoint, much like every other year that had come before it.
As always, the Dame was an absolute scream, which costumes that were just fantastic. Some of them were completely bonkers, but what do you expect from a classic Christmas panto?! The other actors were very talented, with some amazing singers and sharp line deliveries. It was quite a diverse cast, which was refreshing to see.
Complete with a Christmas sing-song at the end, there really isn't anything not to love about the annual Christmas pantomime at the Nottingham Playhouse this year. I'm excited to get some tickets for next year, which I believe is Aladdin! The pantomime here at the Nottingham Playhouse will run up until 17th January 2026, so it's not too late to grab your tickets :)
