Blogmas Day 19 | My Favourite Christmas Cookie Recipes
Welcome to Blogmas day 19! I'll be publishing a Christmassy blog post every day on the run up to Christmas, so keep your eyes peeled for some new festive content right here on my blog. Today, I'm going to be telling you what my favourite Christmas cookie recipes are and how you can make them yourself. Let's dive right in with my favourite Christmas cookie recipes of all time!
Classic sugar cookies
Nothing beats the classics, and in my mind, a "classic" Christmas cookie is the sugar cookie. Despite their name, they're actually not packed with sugar. There's only 100g of it used in the entire dough mixture, and it makes around 30-40 cookies.
So they're not as bad for you as you might think. Completely moreish and easy enough to turn into festive shapes, this classic sugar cookie recipe is bound to leave people wanting more this Christmas. Check below for the link to my recipe!
Melting snowman biscuits
These are so simple yet effective and they're great to make with children. Either make your own sugar cookie base or buy some rich teas or digestive biscuits if you're pressed time and go to town on the decoration. I've left a link to the recipe below for good measure, so you can make your own melting snowman biscuits this Christmas.
Honey & spice cookies
A warming, festive take on classic sugar cookie, the honey and spice biscuits are a wonderful addition to any festive beverage or if you're just wanting a Christmassy snack as we approach the big day. Like the sugar cookies, these too can be cut and pressed into Christmas shapes, without having to worry about them expanding out of shape. Take a look at the recipe below, it's super quick and simple!
Gingerbread men
Perhaps my absolute favourite of the Christmas cookies to make, these gingerbread men are moist, a good size, filled with flavour and are just so simple to make it's almost unbelievable. Trust me, once you've made these, it will become a Christmas baking staple every year in your home, and it make your house small absolutely delicious!
